The Program, Diploma in Inclusive and Special Need Education is designed to address the pressing need for inclusive education and support for diverse learners in Nepal’s education system and beyond. It is a 6 months course offered by Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED). It aligns with the mission and objectives of KUSOED by preparing professionals who can make a meaningful impact on the field of education, offers high-quality teacher education programs with a holistic approach to developing competent teachers, teacher educators, and educational leaders who can contribute to meaningful and life-affirming pedagogical processes. The shift in the educational processes is needed for developing skilled and visionary educational professionals. In the given organizational context, it discusses the need for the program, eligibility for the prospective students, program structure, course descriptions and student assessment modalities. It aims to equip educators and educational leaders with the knowledge, skills, and strategies required to create inclusive and effective teaching and learning environments. The School of Education, located at Hattiban, Lalitpur, is one of the seven Schools of Kathmandu University. It was established in 1997 to contribute to enhancing the quality of education in the country. Its first academic programs were initiated in 1998 with MPhil and PhD programs in Educational Leadership. In the succeeding years, the School extended its academic activities by launching new inter/ multidisciplinary programs. At present, the School runs Bachelor, Post-Graduate Diploma, Master, Graduate Diploma in Higher Education, Master of Philosophy, and Doctoral programs. The PhD Programs of KUSOED are highly acclaimed for producing educational experts capable of creating discourses on evolving educational and development-related issues and imparting analytical and research skills to explore the deeper layers of meaning, thereby developing next-generation leaders.
