COURSE INTRODUCTION

  Suppose we want to understand the dynamics of society. In that case, we need to understand all its aspects in all its totality or an integrated manner, not as a geographer, economist, or educator, but as a social scientist. This is what the focus of social education is. Realizing the lack of competent social studies teachers in the country who could teach social studies effectively and in a contextualized manner linking its theoretical as well as practical aspects and realizing that there is a dire need for such a program focusing on education science, Kathmandu University School of Education is now all set to offer this program aiming the learning objectives such as: interpreting social Studies curriculum Prepared by Nepal Government; designing contextually Relevant Pedagogies for Social Studies; developing Resource Materials for Social Studies; designing and Implementing Authentic Assessment in Social Studies.

1. Understand & apply the Nepali government's Social Studies curriculum. 
2. Design engaging teaching methods for Nepali classrooms. 
3. Create or adapt resources for effective social studies learning. 
4. Design assessments that truly measure student understanding.
