COURSE INTRODUCTION

          This course provides with the recent learning approaches in mathematics, emphasis on cognitive, constructivist, and culturally relevant theories of mathematics learning for the professional development of math educators. The course emphasizes on developing skills and attitudes for effective and meaningful mathematics teaching and learning at various levels. The students internalize creative teaching and learning strategies as a pedagogical approach to teaching mathematics' considering this as a major part, the course aims to enhance the knowledge, skills, and practice of modern techniques to teaching and learning of novice teachers through a series of planning sessions. It covers contents like different educational philosophies, curriculum dimensions, learning approaches, and pedagogical dimensions for mathematics teaching and learning. The course also empowers students to devise class-based pedagogical dimensions.
