About the Conference

Teachers’ conference 2026 brings together educators, researchers, and school leaders to explore
innovative practices that enhance knowledge and professionalism in teaching. This one-day
event offers a space for sharing strategies, reflecting on classroom practices, and building
networks for long-term growth.

Under the main theme “The Need for Critical, Creative, and Wise Teachers in the Time
Commercialized information Landscape” the conference provides a platform for sharing
innovative teaching strategies, engaging in critical dialogue, and advancing professional learning
in Nepal’s education system. All sessions will focus on promoting reflective and transformative
educational practices in schools and beyond.

Taking place across all seven provinces of Nepal, this event will feature:

Conference Objectives

The conference aims to:

  • Strengthen teachers’ capacity to promote critical thinking and inquiry-based learning.
  • Strengthen teachers capacity to navigate Artificial Intelligence.
  • Enhance the ability of the teachers to use Continuous Assessment System (CAS).
  • Support the teachers to navigate the curriculum during this changed academic calendar.
  • Support teachers in addressing the challenges of digital distraction.
  • Create a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration among educators and stakeholders

Prof. Dr. Bidya Nath Koirala
Topic of Keynote Speech:
" दुनियामा यात्रारत समालोचक, सर्जक, र विद्वत शिक्षक "

Prof. Bidya Nath Koirala is one of Nepal’s most distinguished educationists, researchers, and
policy advocates, with over five decades of experience in educational development, research,
curriculum design, and higher education leadership. Holding a Ph.D. in Education from the
University of Alberta, Canada, he has made significant contributions to educational reform,
inclusive learning, and lifelong education in Nepal.
As a former Professor and Coordinator of the M.Phil. in Education program at Tribhuvan
University, Prof. Koirala has supervised numerous postgraduate and doctoral scholars while
contributing extensively to educational research and policy formulation. He has served as a
member of the High-Level Education Commission and the University Grants Commission,
playing key roles in shaping national education policies, qualification frameworks, and teacher
competency standards.

Prof. Koirala has led and advised numerous national and international projects involving
curriculum development, educational planning, monitoring and evaluation, multilingual
education, indigenous knowledge systems, and local government education policies. His work
has influenced educational planning in municipalities across Nepal and contributed to major
initiatives supported by UNESCO and other development partners.
A prolific author, he has published numerous books and over 350 articles on education, culture,
and social transformation. His contributions have been recognized through prestigious honors,
including the Mahendra Vidyabhushan, Shiksha Padak, and LeBaL Trirata Puraskar.
