National Teachers’ Conference 2026

Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED)

About the Conference

Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED) presents the National Teachers’

Conference 2026, a nationwide initiative aimed at strengthening the professional capacity of schoolteachers across Nepal.

As the second edition of the conference, the program builds on the foundation of its inaugural edition, which brought together over 1200 educators from diverse contexts from across the country to share practices, reflect on challenges, and engage in meaningful professional dialogue. Recognizing the need for continuous professional development and context-responsive teaching practices, this year’s conference has a theme: “The need for critical, creative, and wise teachers in the time of merciless infomercials". This theme highlights the responsibility of teachers to act as navigators in an information-saturated world, helping students develop not just skills, but judgment. It calls for a shift from rote learning to reflective, inquiry-based, and value-driven education.

The conference acknowledges teachers as key agents of change in the education system and

provides them with the opportunity to showcase their classroom innovations, research, and lived experiences.Through a combination of keynote sessions, panel discussions, paper presentations, and hands-on workshops, the conference promotes both theoretical understanding and practical application. The inclusion of emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education,

alongside core themes like pedagogy, assessment, and inclusion, ensures that the conference remains relevant to both current and future educational needs.

Ultimately, the National Teachers’ Conference 2026 aims to foster a collaborative professional community of educators, strengthen institutional linkages, and contribute to the ongoing transformation of school education in Nepal. Through this initiative, KUSOED reaffirms its commitment to advancing quality education by empowering teachers, promoting innovation, and supporting evidence-based policy dialogue.
